QualiTune @ CPS Workshop of Silicon Saxony

From March, 29th to March, 30th 2012 the Silicon Saxony Cluster organizes a Workshop onf Cyber-Physical Systems and Energy-efficient Applications. The QualiTune project will be present with two presentations and one talk at the workshop.

  • On Thursday, March, 29th, Prof. Uwe Aßmann will introduce into the workshop with a talk focusing on Life-by-Wire.
  • Following, on Thursday, March, 29th, Ronny Kaiser shows how NAO robots can be controlled using Microsoft’s Kinect controller during his talk Gestenbasierte Benutzerschnittstellen für Cyber-physikalische Systeme.
  • On Friday, March, 30th, Claas Wilke will talk on energy-efficiency as a challenge for Cyber-Physical Systems during his talk Energie-Tests Cyber-physikalischer Systeme.

New Publications

We are glad to announce that two new papers of our group have been accepted for publication.

The first paper covers our approach to compute an optimal mapping of software components onto hardware w.r.t. the ratio between energy consumption and user utility. The second paper introduces our proposal for a role-based language for robot/cyber-physical-system programming.

Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften
At the 1st of July we gave talks to the public about cyber-physical systems and presented „Chuck“ – our Nao robot, which we controlled by an Android smartphone using our tools: NaoDroid and NaoService.
We are thankful for having had such a huge, excited audience ranging from young children to seniors. Again, we have been on regional television (MDR Sachsenspiegel). You can watch the video on Youtube: Dresden laedt zur Wissenschaftsnacht.

QualiTune @ Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften

At July, 1st 2011, the 9th ‚Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften‘ takes place in Dresden, where several research institutes are open for interested people and present themselves to the public. Participating, the research group QualiTune will have two presentations in the Faculty of Computer Science, Nöthnitzer Straße 46, Room INF/E08 at 7 PM and 9 PM. The topic of both presentations will be a general introduction into Cyber-Physical Systems. Both talks will be held by Sebastian Götz.
